Slowing hillside erosion with rock
Rock check lines across a steep, washing slope to slow the water down and let the ground hold.
After a big rain, water was running straight down this slope and carrying the soil with it. We set lines of rock across the hillside to slow the flow and spread it out, then covered the slope in pine straw so it could stabilize.
